In-field total PFAS screening

Get PFAS answers at the point-of-concern — not weeks later from a centralized lab. We are currently working with interested parties through a structured engagement to validate performance on real-world samples and deploy the Salvus® platform in the field.

HOW ENGAGEMENT WORKS

A structured path from curiosity to deployment

Our three-stage engagement is designed to establish performance on your real samples before any long-term commitment. For those parties ready to integrate the platform into their operations, our Salvus PFAS solution is available for full-scale deployment.

1

Feasibility study

We start with a call to discuss your use case. If it aligns with our technology, you send us field samples from your site. We run them on the Salvus PRISM™ and provide results alongside LC-MS/MS confirmation data for direct comparison — establishing that the platform can perform on your real-world samples before any further commitment.

2

Field pilot

Our team travels to your active site with our Salvus PFAS solution. We run the full detection workflow alongside your team — demonstrating real-world performance, walking through sample collection to result, and validating fit for your operational environment.

3

Full-scale deployment

After a successful pilot, deployment is tailored to your needs: platform purchase, lease, or other arrangements. If you prefer not to operate the platform yourselves, we offer ongoing field service — our team comes to your site to run testing as a managed service.

DETECTION SCOPE

What we detect - and what's coming

Total long-chain PFAS (C6+)

Detects total PFAS signal across long-chain compounds — carbon chain length 6 and above, including PFOA and other C6+ per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances. This is our first-to-market assay configuration, currently being validated through feasibility studies and field pilots.

Shorter-chain PFAS (C5, C4)

Detection for shorter-chain PFAS compounds is actively in development. If your regulatory requirements or site conditions require C5 or C4 detection, we want to hear from you — early engagement shapes our development roadmap.

PORTABLE FIELD UNIT - HOW IT WORKS

From sample to result in four steps

No laboratory required. No shipping samples. No waiting weeks.

Collect sample

Draw a liquid sample at the point of concern — water source, discharge point, or any target matrix.

Prepare & condition

The Salvus APEX™, or Automated Portable EXtraction module, runs the sample through buffer conditioning and deposits it into the sample container.

Insert & detect

Insert the detection cartridge into the Salvus PRISM, or Portable Real-time Interferometric Sensing Module. Add the sample, buffer, and waste containers to the Salvus FLOW™, or FLOW box module. The PRISM’s evanescent field reads binding events at the receptor layer in real time.

THE PROBLEM WE SOLVE

Why centralized lab testing isn't enough on its own

Traditional lab testing only

Salvus PFAS solution

WHO THIS IS FOR

Built for the people closest to the problem

The roles involved in understanding, monitoring, remediating, and making decisions about PFAS continue to evolve and expand. Below are a few of the roles currently most engaged in PFAS activities and decisions.

PFAS capture & destruction technology operators

Process monitoring without sending every batch to a centralized lab.

AFFF cleanout and foam transition teams

Rinsate screening at project speed for airport, DoW, and municipal contracts.

Environmental consultants

Screen sites before commissioning expensive certified testing. Identify hotspots, prioritize sampling areas, and move faster on remediation decisions. Useful for site characterization, plume mapping, and treatment system tuning.

Industrial & institutional EHS managers

Identify potential PFAS releases at the source before they become reportable events. Act on internal data while you still have options.

REGULATORY CONTEXT

Why PFAS detection is urgent now

The regulatory landscape for PFAS tightened significantly in 2024. Understanding where you stand before an official test has never been more valuable.

The EPA finalized the first-ever national enforceable drinking water standards for PFAS — 4 ng/L for PFOA and PFOS individually. Compliance timelines are active for public water systems.

CERCLA / Superfund listing

PFOA and PFOS were listed as CERCLA hazardous substances in April 2024, expanding liability and investigation requirements at contaminated sites.

NPDES permit holders

EPA Method 1633 is recommended for PFAS under NPDES permits.
